Chapter 131 Horde Invasion: The Sound Of Chaos
\'Distorted?\' Lee Seng thought. Akali moved her hands to show the group what she was doing. She started to sign and Lee Seng realized she was only talking to him.
"There\'s two in front of me, but there\'s more to the right. We might have to fight here. Be ready." She signed to him. Lee Seng tapped her to tell her he understood and she nodded.
"What did she say?" Felicia whispered. Lee Seng turned his head slightly further to the right, keeping his eyes on the shadows.
"Two in front. More to the right." Lee Seng commented. Felicia and the others nodded. Silence covered the forest around them. In an instant, the loud noises of goblins filled the air around Lee Seng. Akali\'s hands lit up and in an instant, she dashed forward and slashed. The goblin dropped and the goblins frenzied after the group.
"Stay close, everyone!" Akali shouted. Jason lit up his hands and swung his fist into the face of a goblin and a fireball at another while Ritsuka summoned and swung Obsidian Glass downwards, slicing a goblin in half. Lee Seng\'s eyes narrowed as he watched two goblins with red eyes and black veins step out.
"There\'s two black veins right there!" Lee Seng dodged out of the way as Felicia blocked the goblin behind Lee Seng, grunting as the weight of the goblin steel bat slammed down onto her armored body. She pushed against it and summoned her shield, slamming into the goblin. A fiery fist slammed down onto the goblin.
Lee Seng slammed the sheathed katana into a goblin and quickly blasted it away through the sheathe edge. He pulled the sword out and slashed at another goblin, twirling in the chaos. Ritsuka and Lee Seng moved quickly to execute any nearby goblins with ease while Akali jumped back and glanced to the right.
"Have you guys fought B-ranks before?" Akali asked. She flung a light dagger into the head of a goblin and materialized another light dagger.
"I\'ve fought one before." Ritsuka and Lee Seng both spoke.
"No, ma\'am." Jason and Felicia answered.
"Alright," Akali nodded. She dodged a metallic bat and stabbed the goblin. "I\'ll handle both of the black veins. You four clear the goblins." Akali threw both of her light daggers at the black-veined goblins and moved towards them.
"Yes, ma\'am!" The group shouted as they refocused on the goblins around them. Lee Seng moved towards the spot Akali was at and slashed at a goblin, sending a wave of gravity through the goblin and into three other goblins.
"Glass fissure." Ritsuka muttered in Japanese. Obsidian Glass shimmered as he stabbed a goblin with the sword. Black glass-like material shot out of the goblin. Ritsuka moved out of the way and slashed at another goblin, letting the goblin be killed by the eruption of black glass-like material.
Jason dodged and swung at the goblins. He studied the movements and reacted accordingly to the goblins, sending most flying. The fire in his hands were starting to make his scars tingle. He pressed on and sent another fireball flying, erupting a goblin\'s trashy clothes into flames.
Lee Seng and the group cleared the small group of goblins with ease while Akali slid backwards to create distance. The black-veined goblins were tougher than regular goblins. They had some sort of resistance which made the fight harder. These acted like regular goblins yet had the reinforcement and strength of at least a mid-tier C-rank.
"Annoying." Akali murmured in Japanese. She didn\'t dare take her eyes off of the black-veined goblins. Their veins were popping and creating erratic movements. The two black-veined goblins were splitting, holding their bloodied clubs in their grips. The two goblins dashed forward and Akali\'s daggers grew larger into swords. She moved forward, watching as both of the goblins swung their bats at her. Akali slid on the ground, dodging the bats and slicing at the goblins.
Black blood gushed out as Akali slid to a stop and turned around. The black-veined goblins slowly turned to face Akali and growled.
The left goblin growled. The right goblin turned to face the transfer students who were finishing up with the leftover goblins. The goblin dashed forward and swung at Lee Seng\'s back. Felicia shouted as she moved to lift her magical shield. The shield and bat shook and Akali watched as the shield cracked and the goblin\'s attack went through.
The metal bat slammed into Felicia sending her backwards into the ground. The goblin raised the bat once again and Lee Seng raised his hand and sent a gravity blast at it. The goblin slid backwards as Lee Seng shoved his arm outwards at the goblin. The goblin continued to slide backwards, forcing itself to plant its foot down and push through the gravity.
Lee Seng could feel his arm starting to weigh down from the constant pressure of the negative. Jason and Ritsuka moved towards Felicia and pulled her away from Lee Seng\'s stream of gravity. "Felicia snapped out of her daze and turned to look behind her. She watched as three goblins screamed behind Lee Seng, jumping for the attack.
"Lee Seng!" Felicia shouted. Lee Seng\'s tail whipped and slammed two goblins away while the third slammed its bat into his back. Lee Seng lost control of his gravity ripping the ground as he tried to stopped. Lee Seng tumbled to the ground, forcing himself into a roll, ignoring the pain in his back. Lee Seng\'s ears twitched. He could hear the goblins rushing at him. Lee Seng turned to block the first attack, sending him into the ground.
Jason lifted his hand and hurled a fireball at the second goblin in the air. The goblin slammed into a tree dropping its club. Ritsuka pulled away from Felicia and Jason and quickly rushed the goblin on Lee Seng. Ritsuka swung Obsidian Glass straight at the goblin\'s hands wrapped around the bat. The goblin shouted as its hands were severed and the bat fell with a loud thump in between them. Ritsuka swung his sword diagonally towards the goblin\'s head, severing it.
Lee Seng wiped the blood and kicked the dead goblin\'s body away. The black-veined goblin behind Lee Seng and Ritsuka was advancing towards them.
"Watch out!" Felicia shouted. The goblin raised its bat and swung downwards at Lee Seng. Ritsuka moved to try to block.
"Shit!" Ritsuka shouted as his sword moved with the momentum of the bat. Lee Seng\'s back lit up with gold and white wisps. Lee Seng\'s tail shot at the black-veined goblin and held the force of the bat.
"Grrghh!" Lee Seng grunted. The gold and white aura enveloped Lee Seng and his strength felt like it was growing. Lee Seng slowly pushed against the black-veined goblins swing. Lee Seng shoved it backwards and jumped on his feet and turned to face the goblin. The goblin rushed forward towards Ritsuka and Felicia moved quickly to intercept the attack.
"Damn it all." She cursed as she raised her arm. A huge magical shield formed and shimmered brighter. The attack connected and Felicia dug her feet into the ground. She slid backwards into Ritsuka and dug deeper. "Hit him hard now!"
Jason jumped into action and felt the heat around him. He felt the familiar pull and reappeared behind the black-veined goblin. His flames licked higher towards his elbows as he ripped the black goblin away from Felicia, throwing the goblin onto the floor. Jason lifted his arm to punch and felt his scars starting to ache.
"Ahh!" Jason shouted as he stumbled backwards. The flames died down as Ritsuka moved and slashed at black-veined goblin.
"Jason!" Lee Seng rushed over. Jason stumbled backwards into Lee Seng and cursed at his scars. Felicia moved to advance on the black-veined goblin as Ritsuka went for another slash. The swings never dented the goblin.
"I\'m fine...!" Jason grunted. "Figure out how to kill that... thing!" Lee Seng nodded and moved past Jason. The black-veined goblin screeched and black liquid shot out at it. Felicia and Ritsuka jumped backwards and Lee Seng ran towards the black liquid.
"Lee Seng!" Akali shouted. She had been whittling down the other black-veined goblin as the group of transfer students handled the other. Lee Seng watched as the black liquid pulled him in and wrapped tightly around the goblin. Its distorted screams grew deeper and the piercing red eyes started to mimic something not of this world.
"Grahh!" The goblin screamed. It lifted itself up into the air and pulled Lee Seng in. The black liquid started to pulse and pull energy from Lee Seng. Lee Seng gasped for air, trying to pry the grip of the black liquid off of him. He could feel his energy sapping away while he kicked and clawed.
Akali\'s body enveloped into pure light. Her body shot at the black-veined goblin, dismembering it into pieces with one strike. Akali grunted as her black eyes looked up at the changing form of the goblin. It was pulling energy from Lee Seng and a sword formed in her light.
"Lightless struggle." Akali spoke in Japanese. Billions of light blades formed in the air all around the group. With one motion, Akali sent the light swords into the black liquid goblin. The blades rushed and burnt away everything it touched. With each strike, Akali had already decided the fate of the growing black liquid goblin. The swords pierced and burned the goblin causing it to screech in pain.
It\'s grip on Lee Seng loosened. Gravity took a hold of Lee Seng and pulled him back towards the ground. Lee Seng shouted as he pushed the gravity from his back. The ground shook and cracked under the immense pressure of the gravity. Lee Seng landed with a thud and watched the light show above him disintegrate the goblin.
