Chapter 248 Paths
"We have two suns in the sky. The Golden Sun, Rox\'su and the Silver Sun, Vox\'su." Lady Vix\'i\'s voice narrated. "Rox\'su and Vox\'su are twin gods. It\'s said Rox\'su and Vox\'su were born from God King Dathro\'s hands. Rox\'su appearing in a golden light from Dathro\'s left hand and Vox\'su appearing in silver light from his right. The twin gods radiated pure light energy and took on the job of lighting the Realm of Life, Daros."
"Why did the twins take up the purpose of lighting the Realm of Life?" A Fox Spirit asked. Lady Vix\'i puckered her lips and thought for a while before looking at all of the Fox Spirits.
"Rox\'su and Vox\'su had one huge problem." Lady Vix\'i lifted a finger. "Their light was too bright for the others. Rox\'su and Vox\'su loved the God King so much, that they chose to become beacons of light for all of the creatures on Daros. The God King could easily acknowledge them from afar while they could still be within sight of their Father. Can anyone tell me what the two light gods are also known for?" Lady Vix\'i scanned the crowd and a single hand shot up in the back. She pointed at the hand and the young female Fox Spirit stood up.
"The gods of light, Rox\'su, the Golden Sun, and Vox\'su, the Silver Sun, are also gods of paths. They are twins that are complete opposites of each other, but they both hold the same purpose – to pave the path of light unto those on Daros so we may go about our paths. Rox\'su, the Golden Sun, lights the path of free will, simply being with them while his brother, Vox\'su, the Silver Sun, lights the path of a destined path. The two brothers interact and shine on the path before us, but how they interact with what\'s happening is a different story. " The young female Fox Spirit answered.
"At some point, you will be given many different paths to choose, my brethren. If you find yourselves in doubt, look to the suns and ask the twin gods for help. Will you be guided by Rox\'su or by Vox\'su?"
"We don\'t have to worry about the decision now." Keng softly spoke to his human partner. "We don\'t have to deal with that. We have time to choose that. Let\'s just enjoy life and make a decision later, alright?" Keng took another step forward.
"Don\'t listen to him! He\'s just a virus that needs to be exterminated." The woman turned.
"Don\'t you ignore me!" The ghost man screamed as he rushed to them. The woman\'s face turned to annoyance as she pointed at the ghost man. In a split second, Lee Seng had left his spot as the ghost man swung. "Where the hell did you g–" He looked around, only to be met with blades barraging his back, flying out of the otherside like he was made of paper. The ghost man grunted as Lee Seng plunged his hand into the man\'s back.
"You little–" Lee Seng pulled his hand out of the ethereal ghost and watched as black and gold energy ripped from the ghost. The man screamed as his body erupted into tiny pieces of Dark Matter worms. The worms collapsed onto the ground, pulling into Lee seng\'s suit as he turned his attention towards the cabin.
"You thought… You could kill me?!? You are no blessed warrior! You\'re just a nobody!" The witch screamed. The cabin creaked and exploded into tiny pieces of wood as a sea of white ethereal hair slammed down like a wave of water onto Ritsuka. Ritsuka flew backwards, taken back by the wave of hair.
The decay swarmed his body. His grip on Angerfang was being forced away by the witch\'s hair. He grunted as he forced his loosening fingers to hold onto Angerfang. Keng turned around, watching as the sea of hair engulfed Ritsuka. Before he could even scream for his friend, hair whipped and wrapped around him, catching him off guard.
"Argh!" Keng grunted as the hair pulled him in.
"I\'m going to devour you all!" The witch screamed. The witch rose into the sky, a sea of hair surrounding her as she turned her attention to Lee Seng, who didn\'t seem to react to anything. "You managed to kill the brawns but you won\'t be able to kill me, Fox!" She rose her bony finger at Lee Seng, the sea of hair shifting and pulling Keng and Ritsuka up into the air with her. The sea shifted and flew straight for Lee Seng, destroying and sapping the energy of trees and nature around it.
The sea of hair washed over Lee Seng, pushing him backwards as his body began to decay from the effects of the hair.
"Someone who is actually destined to follow a path of both free will and destiny." A strange voice echoed in Lee Seng\'s head. Lee Seng gasped as he lifted himself off the ground.
\'Where am I?\' Lee Seng looked around the unfamiliar territory. He could remember seeing the woman who tried to control him while he was in his Spirit World. \'She\'s back! I need to go back!\' He tried to stand but his body wouldn\'t budge.
"Brother, do you think Father chose right? This one\'s… How do you say… Puny." A Second voice spoke from the ether. Lee Seng whipped his head and couldn\'t really see anything. The space didn\'t remind him of his Spirit World at all. It was simply empty. No light or darkness filled the space.
"Hush, brother. We must simply watch." The first voice spoke.
"You, watch? You\'re going to listen to Father\'s commands? Ha, that\'s unbelievable." The second voice chuckled.
"Hello?" Lee Seng shouted. He turned around. "I can hear you!"
"He can hear us, brother. What will we do?" The second voice asked. Two small lights appeared from far away. A gold and silver light hovered in the air. The ether around Lee Seng started to fill. The blue sky filled above him and many paths laid out before him.
"The first set of paths lay out before him. I wonder which one he\'ll choose." The first voice spoke.
"P-paths? I have to choose?" Lee Seng asked, confused.
"Which path do you think he\'ll choose, brother? There\'s many paths with this one. It\'s been awhile since I\'ve seen three paths for a single person." The second voice asked.
\'They\'re completely ignoring me.\' Lee Seng thought. He tried to wiggle his fingers and toes and felt a response. He moved his arms around and stood up.
"And it starts!" The first voice excitedly spoke. Lee Seng looked around. He couldn\'t see anything behind him, but everything in front of him moved for miles from what he could see. Three paths laid out in front of him. He couldn\'t tell if each path had other branching paths, but he knew there were many in the distance.
"Three paths? That\'s a lot?" Lee Seng whispered. The voices weren\'t speaking anymore. The gold and silver lights were simply staying in their spots. He looked left and right then the middle. He frowned.
\'Is this some sort of destiny bullshit?\' He wondered. He turned his body to the left. He stared at it for a while. He shook his head and turned to the right. He immediately felt uneasy about the right one. Something told him not to pick this path. He turned to the middle and immediately felt better.
"It\'s like I\'m being played with or something…" Lee Seng sighed. He quietly stared at the paths for awhile in silence before shaking his head. "Left feels like nothing happens. Right feels bad. Middle feels good. It\'s like I\'m supposed to use my feelings here or something… Feeling anything is temporary. Feelings change. If I look pass that then–"
His eyes drifted straight for the lights. They were coming closer.
"What\'re you doing, brother? You said you wouldn\'t get involved! We have to abide by Father\'s commands with this one!" The second voice reminded the first. The two lights flew straight forward and the lights became brighter. Lee Seng lifted his hand and turned away as pure light filled the space.
"The light beckons you forth, child. Turn and look upon us." The first voice spoke. Lee Seng turned, slowly opening his eyes. The light was gone. He saw the two suns in the sky and as he lowered his head back to normal, he noticed two humanoids were standing in front of him. They were twins. The one on the left had golden hair and silver eyes. He wore no shirt. His skin was perfectly tanned as a single belt strapped diagonally across his body and attached to his shorts. He was barefoot. A large sword strapped to his back as he shifted in his spot.
The other twin had silver hair and golden eyes. His skin was slightly less tan than his counterpart. He wore the traditional outfit the Foxes wore and hid most of his skin from Lee Seng. He had his arms crossed and he wasn\'t paying attention to Lee Seng in the slightest.
