Chapter 713: The Unlikely Helper

“Where did you go?” asked Lyon.

Mavis sighed, “I was consoling the headmaster.”

“Oh, right you did mention that,” said Lyon as he nod.

Anna and Nit looked at one another. Their relationship with Mavis of the Sky Clan suddenly hung on a balance. They formerly had mentioned that the special guest Lyon had invited to the hunt might drag them down inside the Endless Cave, so much far so as they used the word ‘doom’. However, knowing who it was, the situation seemed to go the other way around. They might be the heavy baggage of the party themselves.

Mavis sighed, “I’ve tried my best to help the headmaster but he adamantly refused my kind help.”

“I see,” Lyon nodded. “If you really want to help, you should go and see the restaurant instead, those people need more financial help than the headmaster.”

“You mean the restaurant that we have launched just prior?” asked Mavis.

“Absolutely,” Lyon nodded. “If you are adamant to help, then they could very well use your help.”

“Hm? That’s a bit odd. I saw nothing wrong when we ate there,” muttered Mavis. “Sure, I will come to visit later.”

“I’m sorry that you have to settle yourself into my humble abode,” said Anna as she returned to her seat.

“Ah, it’s fine, it’s fine,” Mavis waved his hand, “I don’t really mind.”

“Still, I have to apologize for my lack of taste,” said Anna as she bowed. “However, I must thank young master Mavis for joining our hunt.”

“It’s alright, I was the one that insist on joining your hunt,” said Mavis as grinned.

(What? Lyon didn’t even ask him?) Nit and Anna were surprised by his revelation. They never thought that the young master of the Sky Clan would be the one insisting to join the hunt instead.

Anna grinned, with the addition of Mavis, the chances of them getting the flower had increased significantly.

‘So when are we going to that place? Tonight?” asked Mavis.

“I think going in the night is bad,” said Lyon as he shook his head, “We can’t see well there.”

“Lyon, we are going inside a cave,” said Lumina. “The sunlight won’t matter.”

“Oh, you’re right, hahaha!” Lyon laughed.

Anna’s confidence suddenly made a free fall as she heard his words. (He seems so reckless, I wonder why the rest of them followed his words) thought Anna as she looked at Lyon enjoying his own laughter.

“We will depart in five more days,” said Cecile. “So we have plenty of time to prepare.”

“Five more days? Got it,” said Mavis as he nodded. “Though I never went to the place I’ve heard it before.”

Nit suddenly pitched in, “The cave is quite big and spacious but there was hardly any light, so we would need torches to expose the way.”

“Torches?” Lyon furrowed his brows, “Why don’t you use that mana orb thingy.”

Nit frowned, “The mana orb would react indefinitely because of the beasts inside thus not suitable for explorations.”

“Oh, that’s quite logical,” said Mavis as he nodded.

“You’ve never been to the cave before?” asked Lyon.

“Well I did once when I was a kid, but there was hardly anything dangerous there haha!” Mavis laughed.

“I thought you would be a pampered noble, but I guess, you’re just an over-curious noble or some sort haha!” Lyon laughed.

Nit and Anna opened their eyes wide whilst Cherie almost had a heart attack.

Cherie was not having it calm. Her heart palpitate as she looked at Lyon with disbelief. The words that were just uttered by Lyon were too informal and quite possibly offended Mavis. However, everyone’s worry was dismissed as Mavis laughed along.

“They always said that I was naughty when I was young,” said Mavis. “Now, I’m just curious about stuff.”

“Excuse me, young master Mavis,” interjected Anna. “Do you perhaps, bring guards with you?”

“Huh? Oh, nah, I’m on my own in this place,” said Mavis. “I don’t want to trouble my guards that much, after all, I would always suceed in sneaking away from their jarring eyes.”

Anna smiled wryly. She couldn’t respond as freely as Lyon could thus she averted the topic back to the main one. “We would need a stack of torches to light up the caves.”

“You don’t need that,” said Cecile as she chuckled. “You can always use your soul flame to light up the way right?”

“Oh that’s right!” Lyon nodded before he looked at Anna, “Why don’t you use the soul flame to lighten up our way?”

“I’m afraid that would be too taxing,” said Anna as her face turned apologetic. “Activating a soul flame for a prolonged time will undoubtedly make me exhausted beyond measure. If that happens, I would be dragging the party down.”

“Wait, aren’t you also an alchemist,” asked Mavis toward Lyon.

“Damn it,” Lyon muttered before he answered. “No, I mean, yes technically, but it would be too taxing for me to activate the soul flame for plonged time. I would be exhausted beyond measure and dragged the whole party down then.”

Mavis twitched his lips as the rest of them did the same. (How shameless can this guy be). He just repeated Anna’s answer for his own excuse.

Cecile chuckled, “Don’t worry about lighting up the cave.”

“Hmm? You have a new way?” asked Mavis as he raised his brows.

“Even better,” Cecile nodded before she placed her hand on Lyon’s shoulder, with a smile. “I’ve got the whole sun.”

Anna, Nit, Cherie, and Mavis— the four of them didn’t know what Cecile meant. They were stupefied until Mavis caught on to something.

“Brother Lyon, are you… a light-attribute magic cultivator?” asked Mavis with his brows furrowed.

“Hehe, my young master here is—HMMHMH?!” Kesya’s mouth was covered by Assid’s glove.

“Hah~” Lyon let out a heavy sigh.
