Chapter 619: 285: Massacre and Sweeping through the Ruins
Top-tier talent is strong, as one can see from the terrifying battle strength of the Thunderflame Emperor Dragon.
But no matter how strong the talent, one also needs a strong foundation. For example, when the Level 4 Sword Armor Beast had top-tier strength and defense, it didn’t look that exaggerated.
In the same vein, now limited by his Seventh Layer Heaven cultivation, with full strength burst of the Void Double Pupils, Jack could cross a Major Realm to kill those in the early stages of Eight Layer Heaven.
A cultivator at the mid-period of Eight Layer Heaven, if prepared, would at most be injured.
Normally, the power of the Void Double Pupils capable of crossing a Major Realm is strong. For top-notch geniuses like Howard Lambert who awakened it, it is enough to become their ultimate secret move.
But for Jack, who has a Normal Battle Strength almost comparable to the early stage of Eight Layer Heaven at the early phase of Seventh Layer, it becomes somewhat superfluous, simply adding another method to his combat arsenal.
However, now that the passive activation of the Void Double Pupils seems to hold the promise of becoming Jack’s third ace.
This percentage boost characteristic from the Void Rules counts as additional damage, not increasing his consumption or hindering his growth.
That is to say, even if he breaks through to the Ninth Heavens, as the foundational power of the Void Double Pupils skyrockets tenfold or more, the boost from the Void Law remains just as strong.
Under these circumstances, the priority for relic exploration wanes in favor of slaughter.
It would be best to massacre a hundred thousand Void Creatures, intensifying the boost of the Void Double Pupils to a hundredfold. By then, his Level 9 Peak self could instantly kill a king-level being with just a glance.
Boom!
Golden flames shone around Jack, his aura erupting unrestrained, and with a flash of his figure breaking through the air, he began sweeping around the oasis.
The deeper one goes into the ruins, the stronger the Void Creatures become.
And yet, the Void Devouring power is based on ‘life’ as a unit, meaning killing a Fifth Layer or Eight Layer beast still only yields an increase of 1 point.
Under such conditions, it’s most efficient to stack layers by killing the weaker soldiers, although these soldiers are at least of the Fifth Layer.
Amidst sonic booms, Jack quickly dashed tens of kilometers, approaching a rift in the earth that formed a dark crevasse more than 200 meters wide and extending over ten kilometers, akin to an abyss.
Boom!
A radius of several meters in the ground collapsed and with the intense rebound, Jack shot forward like a bullet, turning into a beam of golden light about to cross the rift.
Roar! Accompanied by a furious and brutish roar, a massive shadow unfolded its wings from below, hurtling up to meet him.
This was a Pollution Beast, shaped like a Pterosaur, with wings spanning over 30 meters, a body length of more than 20 meters, covered in decaying black scale armor, bristling with bone spurs.
Boom!
The heavy War Halberd, emanating golden light, swept across at Supersonic Speed, obliterating the air in front of it and forming a pitch-black vacuum of immense pressure stretching over ten meters.
Before the Level 6 polluted monster could react, its fierce head and half of its body exploded into the air, scattering black and purple flesh and blood everywhere, with its enormous corpse accompanied by black smoke falling downward.
However, this obstruction from the polluted monster caused Jack’s figure to pause midair, and with Flame Light Wings unfurling behind him, he shot fiery gusts of air and landed on the opposite bank.
Below the rift surged a great swath of purple-black fog. Jack reached out with one hand, absorbing the Void power within it.
On the deathly still Earth reminiscent of Doomsday, a golden light streaked across the land, attracting the attention of numerous Void polluted monsters with his unmasked aura.
Whoo! Whoo!
Three humanoid creatures over 2 meters tall, covered in black and purple scales, wailed piteously and rushed out from the shadows of giant boulders, turning into three black figures.
On the claws of these Fifth Layer beasts glinted more than a meter-long black Radiance, emanating a sharp Aura that left dark, long streaks in the air.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Before the three polluted monsters could get within ten meters of the golden light, they hadn’t even reacted before being blown to bits under the heavy and Overbearing swing of the War Halberd, reduced to nothingness.
The mighty force continued unabated, shattering the Earth and sending dirt and rocks flying into the air in a turbulent gust, forming a crater over twenty meters wide.
After annihilating three polluted monsters, Jack stopped in his tracks, his expression cold as he stood holding a halberd, watching as clumps of purple-black fog gathered in front of him.
Soon, under the influence of the Ruins Continent rules, the purple Killing Energy headed for Jack, blending into the swirling purple-black fog encircling him as it passed through his palm.
Deep within the ruins, more than sixty kilometers out, Howard Lambert, whose battle armor expanded and standing over 3 meters tall, fought wildly while carrying a Steel Pillar like one might carry a simple pillar.
He was up against roughly twenty humanoid creatures of the Fifth Layer Heaven, and a three-meter-tall Armored Soldier wielding a massive combat knife and exuding the Aura of an Early Sixth Heaven.
In a nearby crater with a diameter of over ten meters, one of the knife-wielding Armored Monsters had already been smashed to pieces by Howard.
Suddenly, a beam of golden light appeared, which, upon noticing the battle here, veered and shot over at high speed.
“Howard, I’ll help you,” Jack called out, accompanied by a sonic boom, as the golden light instantly surged into the swarm of monsters, shattering the ground where it passed and instantly blasting each monster to pieces with swings of the War Halberd.
Before Howard could even react, the monsters that had given him such trouble were gone.
Amidst the remains of the monsters, Jack Clark, clad in Golden Red Battle Armor and holding the halberd, stood and gave a slight smile to the stunned Howard. “We’re classmates, there’s no need to thank me. See you.”
Jack swept his hand through the converging purple-black Killing Intent, his body shimmered with golden light, and with a roar amidst the sonic boom, he shot off once more.
