Chapter 85: Academy Points and Premium Classes

This is why the whole class, including Shye, listened closely after hearing about the terms "academy points" and "premium classes"

Seeing that she successfully captured the attention of her students, Instructor Fienna was satisfied and decided to continue with her lesson.

"Unfortunately, not everyone can afford the premium classes every day and this is the reason why some of you will get left behind by your classmates in terms of knowledge"

The weaker students gulped upon hearing that those who wouldn\'t be able to afford the premium classes would get left behind by their classmates so one of them couldn\'t help but raise his right hand to ask an important question.

"T-Then how can we earn academy points? And how many points does each premium class cost?" The student asked

"Well, there are quite a few ways to earn academy points but the most reliable way is to complete quests in the quest hall"

Shye and the other students furrowed their brows as confused expressions appeared on their faces.

"The quest hall? Why haven\'t we heard of it before?"

Shirley asked

"This is because only sophomore students and above are allowed to enter the quest hall so there was no point in telling freshmen students the location of the quest hall"

"In addition to this, to avoid freshmen from getting any funny ideas, the quest hall was deliberately kept a secret."

After a patient explanation, Instructor Fienna scanned the entire class, and seeing that they understood what she said, she decided to continue her lesson

"Quests from the quest hall are quite dangerous and the quests mainly consist of hunting top apex predators in the beginner adventurer zone and hunting ordinary creatures in the intermediate adventurer zone"

"There are no quests there that involve creatures like Irontusk boars or grey wolves. Only apex E- ranked creatures and above."

"In addition to this, you have to know that you will not get to keep the loot you get from hunting quests. You have to turn the materials in as well before the quest can be considered as complete."

"Lastly, the only reward given in the quest hall are academy points, no monetary rewards or anything, just academy points."

After hearing what Instructor Fienna said, Shye finally understood how Colzen Academy was able to fund the education of freshmen students and they were even able to provide fancy accommodations to the talented ones for free.

It was because the sophomores and above had to pay for their classes which gave Colzen Academy enough funds.

After all, the funds given by the World Adventurer Association would certainly not be enough to fund everyone\'s education and if they cannot find a way to earn silver coins themselves, then the academy would have to close down.

Thus, Colzen Academy created a currency called academy points which the sophomores, juniors, and seniors have to earn through quests before they could attend the premium classes.

If they wanted to be excellent adventurers, then they had to complete quests in the quest hall, give every loot they got from the hunted creatures, and pay for the premium classes using academy points.

Colzen Academy then sells the materials in exchange for silver coins which are used to fund the education of the freshmen for free.

Then, once the freshmen become sophomore students, it would be their turn to keep the academy going and provide free education for the next batch of freshmen students.

Truly a wonderful cycle of setting a good example for the younger generation.

Meanwhile, after hearing how difficult it was to earn academy points, the weaker students panicked and continued asking questions.

"T-T-Then, can we at least form a party with people from other courses to maximize the hunting efficiency?"

Instructor Fienna looked at the student who asked and smiled

"Of course, what do you think the purpose of the end-of-semester tournament was? Wasn\'t it to allow you guys to look for future party members?"

After hearing what Instructor Fienna said, the students felt enlightened and excited because they would finally get to act like true adventurers.

There would be no supervision from the instructors when they\'re on a quest and they could form adventurer parties with other course students.

Due to this, they realized that Colzen Academy wasn\'t just an academy, it was a network platform where they had the chance to grow their network while they were still young.

As an adventurer, you have to have a wide network of contacts so that you will have a higher chance of learning about something that most adventurers don\'t know, have a higher chance to get your hands on limited opportunities, and have contacts on other adventurer guilds.

Unfortunately, the "ordinary" adventurers wouldn\'t have this opportunity and they were bound to struggle at the bottom of the adventurer hierarchy.

Once everyone had this realization, they vowed to network as much as possible while they were still inside the academy and Shye was no exception.

However, just when everyone thought that getting academy points wasn\'t that hard after all, Instructor Fienna poured a bucket of cold water over their heads.

"However, just know that if you decide to take a quest as a party, the academy point reward will be divided among the party members"

"For example, let\'s say a quest had a reward of 50 academy points upon completion. If there were five of you who completed the quest together, you get ten academy points each"

The weaker students\' faces slightly paled upon hearing about the rules regarding quest completion while in an adventurer party.

However, they consoled themselves by thinking that at least they had a chance to safely earn academy points.

"Lastly, premium classes cost somewhere around fifty academy points to a hundred and fifty academy points. The more expensive the class is, the more important it is."

"If you want to look up the schedules of premium classes, they\'re posted in the quest hall. That\'s all for today, dismissed!"
