Chapter 220: The Heroic Convoy’s Return

The two of them didn\'t want to keep depending on Shye so even though it was a hard decision for them to be temporarily apart, it was for the best.

Shye knew that he had to respect their wishes, hence, albeit reluctant, he ultimately agreed.

Both his little sister and his girlfriend were strong so they should be able to pass the Raven\'s Blade Adventurer Guild admission exam.

The tokens he requested from Soaring Raven were merely intended to ensure that the branch guild master would give them a bit more attention.

Moreover, Maia would probably be directly recruited in two years so Shye wasn\'t worried about her making it into the guild.

In fact, Soaring Raven would probably be begging her to join in the future.

She was absurdly way more naturally talented than Shye after all.

After voicing out his thoughts, Shye gave Soaring Raven a deep look—hoping that he would agree.

"Deal, here."

Shockingly—or not really, the guild master instantly agreed. Two seeded tokens for a super prospect was an absurdly small price to pay.

Initially, he thought Shye would ask for a [Legendary] skill or something, and he was already pondering how to deal with the situation.

He was willing to give Shye such a skill but not in front of others as the guild only had two of those and the adamantite-ranked adventurers of the guild had been eyeing it like crazy.

Luckily for him, Shye\'s request didn\'t require him to think much.

Extending his hand out to receive the seeded tokens, Shye gave Soaring Raven a contented smile.

"Thank you for indulging my requests, guild master. I, Shye Crowley, swear allegiance to Raven\'s Blade."

Shye\'s subsequent words sounded like heavenly tunes to Soaring Raven, tickling not only his ears but also his heart.

He had never been so excited since he was a kid.

Just imagining the frustrated and shocked faces of his rival guild masters brings so much joy to his heart

"Great! Great! A truly great decision! The guild will surely not let you down" Soaring Raven said as he nodded repeatedly with a satisfied smile on his face.

From his words, one could see how confident he was in himself and his guild, even daring to say that their sixteenth-ranked guild would surely live up to an entire champion academy roster\'s expectation.

Of course, it wasn\'t only the guild master who was elated.

The representatives, who were to receive an additional permanent blessing of their choosing alongside a [Unique]-tier skill, a high-grade relic of ruby-tier quality, and priority in missions, were also over the moon.

As for the deans, they had no objections as long as their students were treated fairly.

The recruitment discussions concluded with both sides feeling content.

With the darkness of night once again shrouding the world, the Colzen Convoy opted to set up camp inside the Orze Advanced Adventurer Zone.

Guild Master Soaring Raven was here anyway so no matter what monstrosity leaps out of the shadows, it would never be a threat.

After eating a hearty meal, the convoy had nothing to do.

The horses were still resting so they couldn\'t leave.

As a result, the Colzen representatives convened around their future guild master to inquire about various details, including their assigned locations, reporting schedules for their respective branches, and other pertinent information.

Naturally, Soaring Raven answered each of their questions patiently—sporting a gentle smile on his face as he looked at each one of them as though they were the most precious treasures in the world.

The night quickly passed.

As the proud sun slowly peeked from the horizon, its warm golden rays lit up the world, gently caressing the eyelids of those who were slumbering.

Somehow, even the deans fell asleep, and upon waking up, Soaring Raven was nowhere to be found.

As experienced adventurers, the deans knew that the guild master was likely very busy and had already returned to his guild, hence, they continued on their journey towards Colzen City.

The majestic white horses kicked up clouds of dust as the Colzen convoy resumed their glorious march back home.

Shockingly, they encountered another group of assassins, however, the organizer of the assassination squad seemed to be stupid compared to the first one, sending only three diamond-ranked adventurers allowing the deans and the instructors to easily protect their students.

Shye and the others didn\'t even have to fight as Instructor Fienna showed everyone her true strength, valiantly holding her ground against a diamond-ranked adventurer which allowed the other instructors to finish the assailants off.

However, despite the significant scare caused by the assassinations, it proved to be a valuable life lesson for the students.

Now, they know that life isn\'t all rainbows and butterflies.

Once they graduate from the academy, they have to be smart in how they handle things lest they offend someone they shouldn\'t.

They\'re not all promising rookies after all.

Some of them just want to live a normal life—accept fairly safe quests, save up silver coins, and provide for their future families.

The students pondered about their futures as the convoy gradually progressed towards their home city.

Two weeks later, the familiar city walls emerged from the horizon.

To their pleasant surprise, the citizens of Colzen City—both adventurers and normal people—were waiting at the city gates, eagerly waiting for their heroes to return.

Due to Colzen\'s victory at the Adventurer Academy Competition, Colzen City will likely prosper along with Colzen Academy, hence, the citizens wanted to warmly welcome them as a small token of gratitude.

Naturally, the Colzen convoy, especially the deans and the representatives, felt their heartstrings tingle as chants of "Colzen Academy" continuously reverberated as they entered the city.

Shortly after, the citizens energetically escorted them back to the academy gates, seemingly having endless enthusiasm.

They knew returning as heroes would feel good, however, they didn\'t expect it to feel THIS good.
