Chapter 263: Training Of The Mage Who Speaks No Gibberish (2)
Although he didn\'t know whether his mana pool was back to full after only two potions, there was no point in guessing.
He would be able to determine the number of mana potions required to fully replenish his mana pool as long as he persisted with his training anyway.
Shye rested for around five minutes before going through twelve iterations of each spell again.
It seems that two high-grade mana potions were indeed enough to restore his mana to full.
Strangely though, this time, although his head still did ache, it wasn\'t as severe as last time.
Hence, Shye decided to try and cast one more skill
\'Wind Slicer!\'
Sure enough, after another skill, the familiar level of mental pain resurfaced, bringing him down to his knees—sweating profusely.
\'Ahh…f*ck…\' Shye inwardly cursed, taking out two bottles of high-grade mana potions before continuing. \'So my mana pool will go up as long as I endure this tearing pain in my head huh?\'
Smiling as he found another way to become stronger, Shye started firing away, casting spells continuously as much as his mana pool permitted him to.
Finally, after around seventy iterations of each spell…
[Congratulations! Your skill: [Wind Slicer Lv.1], leveled up to >> [Wind Slicer Lv.2]]
[Congratulations! Your skill: [Earthen Spikes Lv.1], leveled up to >> [Earthen Spikes Lv.2]
[Congratulations! Your skill: [Ice Rain Lv.1], leveled up to >> [Ice Rain Lv.2]]
[Congratulations! Your skill: [Blaze Missiles Lv.1], leveled up to >> [Blaze Missiles Lv.2]]
\'Hoh…so 70 uses and a skill would level up to 2 huh?\' Shye mused, deciding to level up the uncommon skills next. \'Oops…gotta drink spell mastery tonics…\'
Aiming his staff towards the crystal once more, Shye tried the damage of his uncommon skills.
\'Fire Bomb Assault!\'
Promptly after Shye thought of the skill\'s name, moderately sized balls of fire materialized in front of Shye—one ball every third of a second.
The balls then continuously flew towards the target, one after the other, wreaking fiery havoc as they exploded before disappearing—absorbed by the crystal.
"230"
\'H-Holy sh*t…Isn\'t this too destructive at level 1?!\'
Earlier, Shye tried using his level three fireball. It was quite strong, scoring 178 points after hitting the large crystal.
However, who would\'ve thought that a level 1 uncommon skill would surpass a level three common skill\'s offensive capabilities?
The absurdly long cast time was worth it.
Only, Shye\'s cast was instantaneous so the skill was simply too overpowered in his hands.
\'Fire Bomb Assault!\'
\'Fire Bomb Assault!\'
…
At exactly every second, Shye thought of the skill\'s name, counting each failed attempt to determine the skill\'s cooldown, which he discovered to be around 30 to 31 seconds.
Next, he tried his other uncommon spell, [(Ice) Frozen Thorn Barrage (Uncommon)], once again aiming his staff towards the crystal.
This prompted decent-sized, lethal ice shards to materialize in front of his staff, shooting straight toward the crystal at a rate of one shard every fourth of a second.
Shockingly, this one scored way higher at 275 with a cooldown of 34 seconds.
Shye was elated.
The offensive capabilities of his spell made him satisfied, however, what made him truly happy was the fact that his mana pool allowed him to cast both spells without drinking a high-grade mana potion.
Hence, he can try another one of his crazy ideas.
Drinking one high-grade and one intermediate mana potion to fully restore his mana pool, Shye took out his other elemental staff from the inventory and grasped it with his left hand.
He then proceeded to wave the staff in his left hand, testing its accuracy and speed to see if he could aim it as precisely as his dominant hand.
After a few seconds, a creepy grin emerged on Shye\'s face.
"Hahahahahaha! Who would\'ve thought that I could even dual wield as a mage?!" Shye exclaimed in glee, failing to suppress the happiness in his heart.
Taking one deep breath to calm his excessively ecstatic heart, Shye aimed both elemental staffs toward the large crystal.
He then glanced at the staff in his right hand, \'Frozen Thorn Barrage!\', before swiftly shifting his gaze to the elemental staff in his left hand, contemplating the name of the other skill.
\'Fire Bomb Assault!\'
A few milliseconds later, embers emerged from nowhere, forming into modest-sized flaming balls, making the temperature rise as the blazing projectiles fired continuously shortly after.
Simultaneously, the staff in his right hand conjured cold winds, transforming into lethal ice shards at a swifter pace than the flaming balls, shooting straight toward the crystal alongside the exploding fiery orbs.
Seeing the ridiculous scene in front of him, Shye\'s eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
The numbers on the crystal kept piling up as both skills, when used simultaneously, seemed to cause much more damage than when used independently.
It seemed like the crystal was on the brink of being destroyed, fortunately, before it did, his machine gu–err, his elemental staffs stopped firing.
The score of 682 then remained suspended on top of it, making Shye almost go crazy with happiness.
\'W-W-What the f*ck is that damage?! Isn\'t this crystal supposed to be able to take damage from spells up to the rare rank? Does this mean that the two uncommon skills have almost the same damage as a rare-tier nuke?!\' Shye inwardly thought, his mind going absolutely bonkers as he imagined firing such spells on creatures like the Winged Boarger, the Kobold General, and the hellspawn bull-lizard.
They would likely suffer a lot, if not outright perish.
Shye felt excited.
He desired to witness the extent of devastation his new skills could inflict on monstrous creatures.
The crazy thing is, that the skills were currently only level one. Once he levels them up to levels two and three, the destruction would be even greater.
\'Well, there\'s only one way to find out!\'
